WhatsApp, the widely-used messaging platform boasting a user base of over 2 billion individuals, has declared the launch of multi-device login functionality, allowing the use of the same WhatsApp account on more than one mobile phone. The announcement was made by Meta’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Zuckerberg, on both Facebook and Instagram.
He said: “Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones,”
WhatsApp has stated that the multi-device login capability will be accessible to all its users in the upcoming weeks, enabling them to log in to their WhatsApp accounts on up to four mobile phones. This is a noteworthy development from the prior constraint of using only one WhatsApp account on a single phone along with multiple supporting desktop devices.
Ways to Use WhatsApp on Account on Different Devices
WhatsApp only allows one phone number to be linked to one device at a time. This means that it is not possible to use the same WhatsApp account on four different phones simultaneously. However, there are a few workarounds that you can try:
- Use WhatsApp Web: You can use WhatsApp Web on your desktop computer or laptop to access your WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time. To do this, open the WhatsApp Web website on your computer and scan the QR code with your phone’s camera. Once you’re logged in, you can use WhatsApp on both your phone and computer simultaneously.
- Use a Dual SIM phone: If you have a dual SIM phone, you can use one SIM card for your regular phone number and the other SIM card for your WhatsApp number. This way, you can use your WhatsApp account on the same phone as your regular number.
- Use WhatsApp Business: If you have a business account on WhatsApp, you can use WhatsApp Business on multiple devices. This allows you to manage your business account on different phones and devices.
However, it’s important to note that using your WhatsApp account on multiple devices can have security risks, as it increases the chances of your account being hacked or compromised. Therefore, it’s recommended to use these workarounds with caution and only if necessary.
